What is stone medallion? Stone medallion, in fact, can be seen as a development and extension of mosaic technology, is a new stone product derived from the combination of mosaic technology and new processing technology. Then, each stone pattern component is joined, repaired and bonded into a whole by manual, and finally polished, thus completing the whole process of waterjet mosaic.

The production process of stone mosaic is mainly composed of three links: design, material selection and processing. Good stone mosaic design must be beautiful, practical and artistic works. In order to design the stone medallion products that consumers like, we must go deep into life, observe and understand people's love and needs, and capture creative inspiration from life. At the same time, it is the most successful to combine the actual situation of a good residence, the external environment and the overall decoration style, coordination, unity and characteristics. In principle, the selection of materials for medallion is determined according to the requirements of specific medallion design or the requirements of customers. If customers do not have material selection requirements, they will select materials according to the national inspection standards issued by the state for stone industry.

Three aspects should be paid attention to in the selection of stone mosaic materials:  In the whole mosaic pattern, the layout color of the same stone must be the same, but for some marble with large color difference (Sammy, Jinxiangyu, Shanhuhong, etc.), there is a large color difference on the same board, so it should be distinguished and planned well when selecting materials. The basic principles of material selection are as follows: firstly, the principle of gradual color transition and secondly, the principle of not affecting the aesthetic decorative effect of medallion. If the surface effect is too poor to achieve good decorative effect or customer processing requirements, it is best to obtain the customer's consent before processing.

In the process of stone mosaic, the change of the pattern on the plate surface is also very important. Especially for high-end products with high quality, high requirements and high artistry. The best texture changes should be combined with the design, so as to better show the effect of the design. Specific texture direction depends on the specific situation, there is no absolute standard to refer to. Generally speaking, for circular patterning, the pattern can be around the circumference direction or along the radius direction, but whether it is around the circumference direction or along the radius direction, the consistency of the pattern should be ensured. For square medallion, the general pattern is extended along the length direction, radiated along the width direction, or changed along the length and width direction at the same time. No matter how the texture moves, the focus is how to achieve the design and decorative effect of stone mosaic, so as to achieve the best decorative effect of mosaic.

From the quality of medallion, these stone defects are absolutely not allowed. But because stone is naturally produced, sometimes there is no way to control it. So many stone materials have some defects more or less. Therefore, when choosing and using materials, we should also consider these problems comprehensively. We should avoid them as far as possible. What we can not avoid depends on the specific situation. And these appearance defects should be repaired as far as possible. However, the allowable range of defects can not affect the overall decorative effect of the medallion. At the same time, because most of the stone medallion is made up of small pieces of components, so we can make full use of the remaining corners of natural stone production to process and produce, but the premise is to meet the previous selection criteria.
